Digital Asset raises $135M to expand RWA capabilities on Canton Network

Digital Asset, the developer of the privacy-focused Canton Network, has raised $135 million in a strategic funding round led by DRW Venture Capital and Tradeweb Markets, according to CoinDesk. The round also saw participation from major institutions including BNP Paribas, Circle Ventures, Citadel Securities, DTCC, Virtu Financial and Paxos. The newly raised capital will support the expansion of Canton’s real-world asset (RWA) capabilities, which already encompass bonds, money market funds, repurchase agreements (repos), mortgages and insurance products. Last year, Bloomberg reported that Digital Asset completed a U.S. Treasury tokenization pilot project in collaboration with Goldman Sachs, BNY Mellon and other financial giants.
