Survey: 34.3% of Korean crypto investors say bull market isn’t over despite geopolitical tensions

A survey tracking weekly trends among South Korean cryptocurrency investors, conducted by CoinNess and Cratos from June 17 to 20, found that 41.9% of respondents expect Bitcoin's (BTC) value to increase or significantly jump this week, an increase from last week's 37.0%. Meanwhile, 33.4% predict a stable market, down from 36.0% last week, and 24.7% anticipate a decline or sharp drop, down from 27.0% previously. When asked about the overall market sentiment, 38.7% indicated optimism or extreme optimism. While 35.4% felt neutral, 25.9% expressed feelings of fear or extreme fear. As tensions between Israel and Iran continue to escalate, crypto investors are growing increasingly pessimistic, with many expressing frustration that negative headlines often derail the market just as it shows signs of recovery. Against this backdrop, 34.3% of survey respondents said they believe the bull market is still intact. Another 29.2% expect a broad market rebound once geopolitical tensions ease. Meanwhile, 23.2% believe the bull run has ended and a bear market has begun, while 13.3% think only Bitcoin will see gains even after the conflict subsides.

Korean construction firm CEO indicted for embezzling $18.7M to fund crypto, pay debts

The head of a construction firm in Cheongju, South Korea, who has faced past allegations of collusion with local officials and police, has been indicted for allegedly embezzling company funds to invest in cryptocurrency and pay off personal debts, according to Yonhap News. The CEO reportedly diverted 25.9 billion won ($18.7 million) between June 2012 and January 2025.

CZ warns about security of crypto information websites

CZ reminds users to beware of authorizing wallet connections to these sites. Malware was planted on CoinMarketCap two days ago, and today, Cointelegraph's front end was attacked. As per on-chain analysis, 39 victims have lost $18,570 in total in the case of CoinMarketCap, CZ stated.
