AI agent token hype has faded, but tech development continues, says report

The speculative fervor surrounding AI agent tokens has subsided, but the underlying technology continues to advance, according to a new report from Tiger Research, an Asia-based Web3 research and consulting firm. The firm noted that while the crypto industry has integrated AI in many ways, the AI agent sector initially garnered the most attention, with the market capitalization for these tokens once reaching $16 billion. However, this interest faded as the technological development of most projects failed to meet expectations, leading to a price collapse of more than 90% from their peak. Tiger Research emphasized that this price decline does not signify a technological regression, stating that AI agents remain a crucial field within the crypto industry as discussions on practical applications become more concrete and new approaches are continually explored.

However, he warned that if the market enters a downturn, the stock prices of these companies could fall simultaneously with the value of their crypto assets.
